How to Use OnTopReplica

Learn how to use OnTopReplica with this step-by-step beginner’s guide. Discover how to create always-on-top overlays, mirror application windows, adjust transparency, crop specific regions, enable click-through mode, and customize settings to get the most out of OnTopReplica on Windows.

Basics

Create your first overlay

Launch OnTopReplica from your Start menu.

Open OnTopReplica from the Windows Start menu or desktop shortcut. Once launched, the application is ready to create live window overlays for seamless multitasking.

Right-click anywhere inside the OnTopReplica window to access the settings menu, where you can configure overlays, transparency, cropping, and other customization options.

Click Select Region → Window, then choose any open application you want to mirror. OnTopReplica will instantly create a live overlay of the selected window.

Resize, reposition, or crop the mirrored overlay to display only the content you need. You can also adjust transparency for a cleaner and more organized workspace.

Always on Top option is enabled by default, ensuring your overlay stays visible above other applications. You can also enable click-through mode for uninterrupted interaction with programs underneath.

Basics

Adjust opacity for the perfect blend

Right-click the overlay → hover ‘Opacity’ → pick a level from 10% to 100%. Lower opacity is perfect for reference material; higher opacity is best for active viewing.

Cropping

Show only what matters

Instead of mirroring an entire window, use ‘Select region → Custom region’ to crop out just a slice — a scoreboard, chat panel, chart, or timer.

Click through

Interact with what's behind

Toggle ‘Click through’ from the right-click menu. All mouse and keyboard input will pass through the overlay directly to the app underneath — ideal for keeping notes visible while typing.
